This is a fabulous lacquered goban. It came to BadukClub from an antique dealer in Yamagata, Japan.

At about 14kg, the wood is likely Shin-kaya, known for its incredibly straight lines and warm color. Because of the lacquer, we cannot see the endgrain, but given how straight the lines are on the top, it is probably a quartersawn or riftsawn board (shihou masa or tenchi masa). Quartersawn and riftsawn wood has the best dimensional stability to avoid warping over time.

The board was been carefully lacquered black, and decorated gold with floral designs. 

An orange and white brocade cloth is included, as well as a paulownia lid. The lid could be reglued to correct a crack in one upper corner and some slight separation in box joints near the lower edge.
