This set came to Baduk Club from Mie Prefecture. It includes a 5cm hagi board, beautiful bowls, and slate & shell stones.
This board is in good shape, though a good cleaning would help. It appears to be shin-kaya, though with such tight wavy lines it might be honkei. A signature on the underside likely belongs to the original owner.
The bowls are probably Keyaki or Mulberry. They have amazing lines on the lids, with awesome burl on the bowls themselves. It's very hard to tell what wood this is - my best guess is keyaki soaked in something like Danish Oil and then wheel-buffed to a mirror polish.
The stones are slate & shell, approximately 9.5mm thick (size 34). The white pieces are mostly Utility and Moon-grade with a patina from age. The set is just short of complete (about 4 white and 3 black), but you can contact me to arrange replacements once it arrives - this will be included in the purchase price.
International seamail shipping from Japan (to almost everywhere) is already included in the purchase price for free - however, this service takes up to 2-3 months. You may upgrade to FedEx shipping for a fee, which reduces the shipping time to only 5 business days. This also means your items will have more room for padding and spend less time in transit, so they are less likely to be damaged by the shipping. In either case you will have a tracking number from the shipping service that you can use to sign up for notifications.
Please understand that this is a vintage item, so it is sold in an as-is condition.
