This set includes high quality go bowls and very thick go stones.

The bowls look like Mountain Mulberry. The original finish has been removed and they were treated with Monkey Wax and given 3 weeks to cure. They have nice lines and great color, which glows golden in  the sun. They are XL size, measuring 14.7cm wide and 8.7cm tall, 10.8cm tall with lids on. They fit the size 37 stones snugly. A small crack near one rim has been glued to keep it from spreading.

The 180 white pieces are Mexican clams, with some variety in grade but mostly Utility and Moon grades, and they measure 10.1-10.4mm. The white pieces were cleaned according to our Care Instructions including a week-long soak in h2o2, a wash with distilled water, and buffing with iso-paraffin wax.

The 181 black pieces are slate, and they measure about 10.4-10.6mm thick. It is common for black stones to be slightly thicker than white so that they appear the same size side-by-side on the board. They were cleaned according to our Care Instructions, including a wash with distilled water.
