This lovely set includes Japanese Go Bowls and slate and shell Go Stones. This set was not refurbished, as it seems in a near-new state.
The stones are size 30 slate & 28 shell. The white stones are a mix of grades, mostly moon grade Mexican clamshell.
The 181 slate stones are slightly wider, to account for black's slimming effect. They have been washed and rinsed with distilled water. They have not been buffed with mineral oil, we leave this option to you.
The bowls are Keyaki (Zelkova) with a pleasing orange-brown tone. They have their original shellac finish. At XL size they fit the stones comfortably. Please see the photos for measurements.
The bowls catch the light very well. It is possible that they are something more valuable, likr Ash or a type of mulberry. They come with their original box.
