This set of go stones and go bowls was acquired from a private home in Osaka. The seller, Shu-san, writes, "[This set belonged to my father, who had an amateur dan-level ranking.]"
The bowls look like Keyaki (zelkova), but may be a kind of Kuwa (mulberry) or Nara (oak).
The stones are slate and shell, size 28, around 7.5mm thick. There are 181 white pieces and 182 black (a spare of each color). The white pieces look like moon-grade Mexican clams. Because they are not inspected by us, they may need some refurbishing, so please refer to our Care Instructions. When the package arrives please check for broken stones and contact us for replacements, which will be included in the purchase price.
Please contact us if you would like to bundle this set with a board or other items.
This item ships from Japan. The cost of Japan Post Seamail is already included in the purchase price as Standard Shipping - however, this service takes up to 2-3 months. Please contact us if you would like to add Airmail shipping (FedEx), which would raise the cost by about $70 and reduce the shipping time to 5 business days. In either case, please allow a week for packing the item and clearing Customs, then we you will receive a shipment notification with a tracking number that you can use to sign up for updates.
Please understand that this is a Vintage product, not a new item.
