This go board set comes from an Go and Shogi dealer in Kanagawa. It stands 30cm tall with legs. It has very thin growth-lines, so it is dense and has a warm tone. Those signs point toward Katsura, though the symmetry of the endgrain makes me think Matsuju. The endgrain displays an inverted cross-cut (kiomote), which is often done when there are knots in the heartwood - in this case I think it was merely some light areas in the heartwood, which you see on the underside.

The bowls look like quince. Normally quince can be dark red or brown, but these have a nice mottled look with lighter bands in areas.
The stones are slate and shell, about size 35. There are 180 white, plus 2 extra spares; they are 9.6-9.8mm thick; they look utility-grade Mexican clams, but may be moon-grade. There are 181 black, plus 2 extra spares; they are slightly thicker at 10.1-10.3mm - this is common so that the matte black stones will not appear smaller side-by-side with the shiny white pieces.
