This 20cm thick goban came to Baduk Club from an antique dealer in Osaka, and is one of the thickest boards you will see. It has a very warm color and could be confused for Kaya, if not for the incredible uniform growth lines. A tag on the navel confirms this.
It weighs 18kg, so it is on the slow-growing side of shin-kaya. This is also apparent in how close together the tree rings are when you examine the end-grain. It is the most preferred cut (shihou-masa), which provides parallel lines along the ends, the playing surface, and the underside. The grid-lines are slightly raised, a result of being hand-lacquered by tachimori; it looks a little thin in spots.
The sides have cross-grains on a cut like this. I do not have photos of the sides so I do not know the condition, but the edges and corners all look very good so I think the board was well-cared for (another good sign is the white wax residue in the navel, on the legs, and even on the end-grain a little bit). Once a new layer of wax paste has been applied, this board will really shine.

It comes with a bonus - a full set of size 25 glass stones (7mm).
FedEx International Priority shipping to the US from Japan is already included in the purchase price for free, a $300 service that reduces the actual transit time to only 5 business days. This does represent a huge piece of the overall cost, but is necessary given the board's size. The upside is that a FedEx box has sufficient room for padding in order to avoid shipping damage. A FedEx tracking number will be provided that you can use to sign up for notifications.
Please understand that this is a vintage item, so it is sold in an as-is condition.
