It is in excellent shape and did not need to be refurbished.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a complete set, with 181 black pieces and 180 white pieces. These pieces are very thick and luxurious.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe white pieces are high-grade Mexican clamshell. They measure about 11.7mm thick. Many are snow-grade, but many others are moon-grade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe black pieces are Japanese slate. They measure about 12.2mm thick. They are purposely larger than the white stones to account for black's slimming effect.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe go bowls are Cherry, size XXL, or something similar like Quince (Indian Rosewood). They fit the stones comfortably, and have a nice profile.
