One Busy Month!

What a month!

I can't believe it has already been a month since I joined the Baduk Club team. It's been a lot of fun and I've learned a lot, and hopefully you see that in the look and feel of the site.

I returned to Western Colorado, got wrapped up in the election, and have generally been trying to get back into a less-stressful groove - there's still work to be done on that front, but I do have the luxury of being able to socially distance. In fact, there was a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Closing out Pre-Orders

When a few boxes of equipment arrived in November, I could finally finish fulfilling the pre-orders that I received this summer. That was very satisfying, and not just because I was able to clear the items off my to-do list -- but also it felt so good to put the bowls and stones in the hands of friends and players I have been communicating with since this project began.

Cleaning

Sourcing More Gear

Finishing the pre-orders means that none of the items arriving have been claimed, so everything is available for sale moving forward! My fiance gave me a tripod for my birthday, so that will help me to start doing 'unboxing' videos - you'll be able to see what's coming as I open it. In fact, because it takes up to 3 months for the equipment to arrive, I tend to have forgetten what I had shipped, so even I am surprised!

I've been pretty active, buying and listing a ton of Go Boards, Go Stones, and Go Bowls on the Vintage page as they become available at the warehouse in Japan. Most are affordable, but sometimes I pick up something special (Coming soon):
Gold and Black Lacquer

I've had a few big Custom Orders for interesting equipment, which were a lot of fun to hunt down. I'm also open to negotiation on most of my inventory, so let me know what fits your budget.

Refurbishing

I have a number of sets in Colorado that I can put in your hands by Christmas, in case you need a last-minute present!

Besides the bowls and stones I've been fixing up, I've put a lot of work into the Care Instructions, which keep expanding and becoming more detailed as I learn more about this craft! My Instagram has housed some of my refurbishing work, but I hope to start putting deeper dives onto the Blog soon.

Linseed Oil

Later this month I will attempt to make my own custom wax paste specifically designed for Go Boards and Bowls. I'll call it Monkey Wax and I hope to have enough extra to sell! Made of local Colorado beeswax and pure linseed oil (no chemical drying agents), so if it is applied properly and allowed to cure it should be a food-safe blend that can also be used on cutting boards, tool handles, and almost anything wooden in the house. Wish me luck!

With Gratitude

I've had some incredible feedback from customers, which absolutely warms my heart. I do want to keep getting the word out, so let your friends know about Baduk Club! If you are running a tournament and need prizes, send me a chat and I'll donate a freshly-minted gift card!
