This set of go bowls and go stones came to Baduk Club from a consignment shop in Hokkaido.
A warm yellow/orange color, this set of Kaya bowls has tons of red accents from the curing of resin. If you store clamshell stones in these bowls, take care to protect the wood finish as the resin of Kaya can discolor clamshell - a cloth liner inside each bowl is a good idea.
The stones are size 36 glass, with one white piece missing. They fit the bowls comfortably so the bowls could potentially hold larger stones.
The modern-style Paulownia box is perfect for storing high-class bowls (39cm x 21cm x 16cm). Orange storage cloths are included, and are perfect for keeping the bowls from moving around too much.
Some wear and discoloration is included in the photos. This is a vintage item.
