This set came to Baduk Club from a go salon in Chiba, Japan. The club closed and left their items with a second-hand shop.
The board is roughly 6.3cm thick. It features beautiful endgrain, and the dark orange-red color points to the wood being Katsura. It is a hagi board, made of 4 connected pieces - this construction minimizes the risk of warping over time.
The bowls look like Sakura (cherry) or Keyaki (zelkova). They have great lines and a polished shellac finish. They come with their original box.
The go stones are glass, approximately size 32 (8.8mm).
