This lovely set includes refurbished Go Bowls and refurbished slate and shell Go Stones.
The stones are size 32 slate & size 31 shell. They have been cleaned per our Care Instructions. The 180 clamshells measure about 8.4mm. They are a mix of grades. The 181 slate stones are wider, and slightly thicker on average as well, around 8.7mm. They have been washed and rinsed with distilled water.
It's preferred to have the black stones slightly larger than the white - if they are the same size, the bright white pieces will appear larger. This is why standard black stones are about 22mm wide while the white are about 21.5mm.
The bowls are Chestnut with a pleasing brown tone. They have been cleaned of their original finish, buffed with Monkey Wax, and given 3 weeks to cure. At XL size they fit the stones without much room to spare. One of the bowls had a divot near the rim which was filled with epoxy putty and colored to match.
