This lovely set includes refurbished Go Stones and Go Bowls.
The stones are size 34 slate & size 33 shell. The 180 white pieces are Mexican clamshell with a mix of grades but mostly Utility. They have been refurbished in our Colorado workshop: they were soaked in hydrogen peroxide for a week, washed with distilled water, and buffed with iso-paraffin wax. The 181 slate stones are slightly larger (thicker and wider), and have been washed with distilled water - they have not been buffed with mineral oil, we leave that choice to you.
It's preferred to have the black stones slightly larger than the white - if they are the same size, the bright white pieces will appear larger when side by side.
The bowls have nice parallel lines, and are likely Shiochi (ash) or something similar like Keyaki (Zelkova) or Pogoda. They have been scrubbed of their original finish, treated with Monkey Wax, and given a week to cure. At XL size, they fit the stones snugly.
