This set includes refurbished go bowls and very thick go stones.
The bowls are chestnut, a pleasant brown color with concentric circles. The two bowls are slightly mismatched, so one is about 4mm taller than the other. They were refurbished in our Colorado workshop; the original shellac finish was cleared with scrubbing and turpentine, treated with Monkey Wax and given 2 weeks to cure.
The bowls are XL size, and fit the stones snugly.
There are 180 white and 1801 black. The white pieces are mostly Snow-grade. They were cleaned according to our Care Instructions including a week-long soak in h2o2, a wash with distilled water, and buffing with iso-paraffin wax. The black pieces were cleaned according to our Care Instructions, including a wash with distilled water, but have not yet been buffed with mineral oil - we leave this choice to you.
