This deluxe go board came to BadukClub from a second-hand shop in Saitama, Japan.
The board is 18cm thick. It has an even yellow color typical of Shinkaya (Alaskan Spruce), and it is a quarter-sawn board, a Tenchi-masa cut. This cutting style is very highly rated, as it has the maximum dimensional stability (it will not warp over time), and shows straight lines on almost all of the surfaces. There are a few stray marks.
The white color on the legs is a good sign - this is protective wax, and it can be smoothed out with a clean cotton cloth.
