This go board came to BadukClub from a second-hand shop in Osaka, Japan.
The board is about 13cm thick. It has an even yellow color typical of Shinkaya (Alaskan Spruce), and it is a quarter-sawn board. This cutting style is very highly rated, as it has high dimensional stability (it will not warp over time). It shows straight lines on almost all of the surfaces. There are a few stray marks, as this is a used item.
The bowls look like size XL Karin (Quince), but could be Sakura (Cherry) or something similar. They fit the stones comfortably.
The stones are slate and shell, size 34 (about 9.5mm thick). There are 181 white and 180 black. The black stones are slightly larger than the white to account for black's slimming effect.
