This set came to Baduk Club Vintage from a second-hand shop in Hyogo. Yunzi stones are not a very familiar product for us. They are just slightly wider than standard stones.
There are some advantages to single-convex stones, besides the nice snap of playing them; they don't wobble when the table is jostled; their luster improves with age as they absorb oils from the hands; you can invert them to explore variations without losing track of which stones don't belong on the board; etc.
There is a full set, with 181 pieces of each color. However, 4 of the white stones have a small chip and 1 was broken (they will be included). Also included is the original invoice for the stones (2013), cloth bags, a plastic 19x19 board, and a yellow ribbon for securing the box. The box measures 36cm x 15cm x 19cm and was reglued in one spot on the side.
The go bowls look like a high-grade material between Cherry and Quince. They have a reddish hue that is seems strikingly similar to the cherry bowls that I treated with boiled linseed oil a year ago. One bowl had a small crack that was glued to keep it from spreading, then both bowls were treated with Monkey Wax and given 3 weeks to cure. They have a great luster in the light, a video is available here:
