This lightweight wooden lid helps protect a valuable floor board. Ensuring minimal exposure to drafts and light, a lid helps a board maintain its moisture level and prevent warping.
Cut with square joints, this lid design is made with wooden pegs instead of nails.
A cloth cover is also recommended to fill the gap between the board and the lid. This will minimize wear and prevent rattling (a cotton tablecloth works nicely). The cloth should drape a bit lower than the lid, creating a skirt, so that the board is not lifted with bare hands - oils from the hands will build up over time to create dark areas.
This will fit a board up to 5.5 inches thick. The internal dimensions are 18 inches by 16.5 inches.
