This board came to Baduk club from an antique shop in Hyogo, Japan.
The board is a lovely candy color typical of Kaya. It is a 3-piece hagi board, where the wood has been joined together - this type of construction is quite common for a table board, since making it from a single piece can lead to eventual warping. The board looks to be sitting flat on the surface, so there doesn't appear to be any warping.
It is an older board with incredibly dense growth rings. Please see the photos for details.
The board comes with a used cloth cover and paulownia lid.
This is a vintage item.
