This go set came to Baduk club from an antique shop in Fukuoka, Japan.
The board is Agathis (maidenhair tree), a very heavy and hard wood. It is a mellow yellow color, and stands 18cm tall with the legs on. The nice thing about a board of this thickness is that it can also serve as a table board if you remove the legs.
The bowls are Chestnut, size XL, with their original shellac finish in good shape.
The stones are a full set of slate and shell, size 34.
This is a vintage item.
