This is a lovely go set, with high class go bowls and moon-grade go stones.

The wood looks like Island Mulberry or something similar like Cherry or Quince. They are XL size, please see the photos for measurements. They have been not been treated, as their original shellac finish is in great shape. A video of the bowls is available to show how they glow golden in the light:

The 180 white pieces are a Mexican clamshell, and a bit thicker than 8mm. The bright white clamshells have dense grain patterns. Among all the white stones there is a variety of grades, but the majority are Moon - please see the photos for details. They were soaked in h2o2 for 2 weeks, before being rinsed with distilled water and buffed with iso-paraffin wax.

The 181 black stones are slate, and are slightly thicker than the white (size 31) which is usually preferred so that they appear the same size side-by-side. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water, but have not been buffed with mineral oil.
