These sturdy go bowls come with refurbished slate & clamshell go stones.
The wood has a pleasant brown tone with grain like chestnut. They are L size, please see the photos for measurements. They have not been refurbished, and have their original finish. A small mark exists on one bowl.
The 180 white pieces are a Japanese clamshell. The slow-growing Japanese clams are beyond Snow grade, with incredibly dense lines. A few pieces have 'purple heart." They were soaked in hydrogen peroxide for a week before being rinsed with distilled water and buffed with iso-paraffin wax.
The 181 black stones are slate, and are slightly larger than the white; this is usually preferred so that they appear the same size side-by-side. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water, but have not been buffed with mineral oil as we leave this choice to you.
