This set of go stones and go bowls was refurbished in our Colorado workshop.
The 180 white stones are mostly Japanese clamshell, with very dense lines. Japanese clams are slow-growing, but no longer harvested due to depletion. There do seem to be some Mexican clamshell replacements as well. They were soaked in h2o2 for a week, washed with distilled water, and buffed with iso-paraffin wax.
The 181 black slate stones are slightly wider, which is common to account for black's slimming effect. They were washed with soapy water, rinsed with distilled water, but have not been buffed with mineral oil - we leave this choice to you.
The bowls are a handsome orange/red color. They were scrubbed clean of their original finish and then polished with Monkey Butter. A small crack near the rim of one bowl was glued to keep it from spreading.
