This set was refurbished in our Colorado workshop. 

The Keyaki (zelkova) wood has a pleasant orange-brown tone. They are XL size, please see the photos for measurements. One bowl looks to have held over-oiled slate stones in the past, so there are some slight discolorations. 

The 180 white pieces are clamshell. They were soaked in hydrogen peroxide for a week before being rinsed with distilled water. They are mostly Japanese in origin, but have many Mexican replacements, so there is a variety in the white patina.

The 181 black stones are slate. They are slightly larger than the white; this is preferred so that they appear the same size side-by-side. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water, but have not been buffed with mineral oil as we leave this choice to you.
