This is a deluxe go set. The bowls are size XXL Chinese Quince, a dense wood with great longevity. Sometimes called Indian Rosewood, they will shift in color as they age, every so gradually changing from red to brown. They come with their original box.
The 180 white pieces are Mexican clamshell, moon and snow-grades. They are bright white, so much so that we did not refurbish them when they arrived at our Colorado workshop.
The 181 black stones are slate, just slightly larger than the white stones. It is preferred that the black pieces be larger, account for black's slimming effect.
