This Japanese go board was shipped to Colorado for refurbishing. It has the wavy grain, high density, and candy color that we expect from Kaya. It is just over 6.2cm thick and weighs TBDkg.
This is a hagi board, made of 4 pieces of wood joined together. This type of construction helps prevent warping that may occur when a thin board is made of a single piece.
The board carries some marks from use, but is in excellent shape. The wood was sanded on the 5 sides and treated with Monkey Butter. The raised lacquer grid was kept intact. On the underside, signs of repairs are still visible from the original construction where knots were filled with a yellow paint.
