This is a nice vintage set from Japan.
The bowls are size L. They were refurbished in our Colorado workshop and finished with Monkey Butter.
The bowls have a wonderful reddish color and shimmer in the light. They are most likely Karin (quince) but could be rosewood. A video is available:

There are 181 black and 180 white pieces. They are biconvex resin. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water.
