This lovely set includes original Go Bowls and refurbished go stones. The set arrived at our Colorado workshop in good condition, so only the stones needed attention.
The 180 white pieces are Mexican clamshell with a mix of grades. They were soaked in h2o2, washed, and rinsed with distilled water.
The 181 slate stones are slightly larger, to account for black's slimming effect. They were washed, and rinsed with distilled water.
The bowls are Karin (Quince), and their grain catches the light very well. Quince has a high density and good longevity, making it one of the premium woods for go bowls. Over time they gradually change color from red to brown. At XL size, they fit the stones comfortably.
