This lovely set includes original Go Bowls and refurbished go stones. The set arrived at our Colorado workshop in great condition, so it has not been refurbished and we can offer it at a discount.
The 180 white pieces are Mexican clamshell, bright white with dense lines in a variety of grades.
The 181 black stones are slate, and they are slightly larger to account for black's slimming effect.
The bowls are Karin (Quince), and their grain catches the light very well. Quince has a high density and good longevity, making it one of the premium woods for go bowls. Over time they gradually change color from red to brown. At XL size, they fit the stones comfortably.
