Vintage boards like this are increasingly rare to find in good condition. This one has a warm brown/orange color typical of Katsura. The grid is traditional raised lacquer, which shines in the glare of the light.
The construction is old-fashioned but sturdy, with mortise and tenon joints instead of hinges. This is nice because there won't be hinges to scratch a table, and the reverse side is also available (in this case it is a Shogi board).
This is a vintage item. It has some incidental marks and a dented corner but is in good condition.
