This vintage set of go stones and go bowls was refurbished in our Colorado workshop.
The bowls are a dark brown chestnut. They are size M. They are in good shape, having been cleaned of their old finish and polished with Monkey Butter. One of the lids does not sit comfortably on the bowl as the bowls seems to have shrunk slightly over time - this probably caused the cracks in the lid, which we reglued with Titebond.
The 180 white stones are Japanese clamshell. They have lines that are packed so thick that calling them Snow-grade does not quite do them justice. These are not Mexican clams, but instead are from a northern latitude and colder waters where they grew more slowly. The 181 black stones are slate. The stones were cleaned according to our Care Instructions.
An original storage box is included. This is an old-fashioned box, and we reglued it in a few spots. It will need a new twill ribbon to fit through the holes in the lower side and stretch over the lid to secure it in place - that ribbon should be 1cm wide and about 2m long.
