This Japanese board was shipped to Colorado for refurbishing. It was treated with Monkey Butter.
This board is an older style, as we can tell by the hinges. The wood was carefully selected, both pieces are Quartersawn. The wood is Katsura, fairly dense and dark with a soft sound when stones are played. There are some incidental marks, but overall it is in very good condition.
