This lovely set includes refurbished Go Bowls and refurbished slate and shell Go Stones. I am in a hurry to get to the US Go Congress, so I did not have time for many photos.
The stones are just slightly larger than size 32, about 9mm thick. They have been cleaned per our Care Instructions, including a weeklong bath for the white stones in hydrogen peroxide. The 180 white pieces are Mexican clamshell. The 181 black stones are slate - slightly larger than the white to account for black's slimming effect - they were washed and rinsed with distilled water. The stones come with an original storage box.
The bowls are outstanding. They look like Pear or some other fruit tree like Mulberry. They are beautifully crafted, with a tall round shape, delicately light but still sturdy. We brushed them lightly to clear the original shellac finish and then treated them with our homemade Monkey Butter. At XL size they fit the stones comfortably.
