This extraordinary set came to Baduk Club from a furniture shop in Aichi, Japan. It is in excellent shape and did not need to be refurbished.
It is a complete set, with 181 black pieces and 180 white pieces. These pieces are very thick and luxurious.
The white pieces are high-grade Mexican clamshell. They measure about 11.7mm thick. Many are snow-grade, but many others are moon-grade.
The black pieces are Japanese slate. They measure about 12.2mm thick. They are purposely larger than the white stones to account for black's slimming effect.
The go bowls are Cherry, size XXL, or something similar like Quince (Indian Rosewood). They fit the stones comfortably, and have a nice profile. They come with the lower portion of a Paulownia box (not sure what happened to the top, sorry).
