These vintage sets of Slate & Shell came from Japan and have been cleaned in our Colorado workshop.
Each set contains 40 black and 40 white pieces. They are standard Japanese size, about 22mm wide and about 4mm thick. They come with lidded plastic containers.
The 40 white pieces are Japanese clamshell with distinct lines. They were soaked in hydrogen peroxide for a week before being rinsed with distilled water.
The 40 black stones are slate. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water, but have not been buffed with mineral oil as we leave this choice to you.
These stones are used and visibly old. Broken and missing stones were replaced, but small defects may still exist. New stones can be purchased in Japan for much higher prices, plus the cost of shipping. If you are interested in a bulk order please contact us to arrange that.
