This lovely set includes Japanese Go Bowls and refurbished slate and shell Go Stones.
The stones are size 32 slate & shell. They have been cleaned per our Care Instructions. For the 180 white pieces this means a week-long soak in h2o2, washing with distilled water, and buffing with iso-paraffin wax. The stones look mostly moon and snow grade.
The 181 slate stones are slightly wider, to account for black's slimming effect. They have been washed and rinsed with distilled water. They have not been buffed with mineral oil, we leave this option to you.
The bowls are Keyaki (Zelkova) with a pleasing orange-brown tone. They have their original shellac finish. A small crack at the rim of one bowl was reglued. At XL size they fit the stones comfortably, with plenty of room to spare. Please see the photos for measurements.
