This Goban came to Baduk Club from a quick sale in Osaka, Japan.
The board is most likely Matsu (Pine) or Katsura. At 8.5cm, it is a nice height for a table board if you choose to remove the legs - otherwise it stands 20cm tall on Katsura legs. It has a raised lacquer grid (tachimori).
The board has wax residue, which is a good sign. It should clean up easily with a cotton cloth.
The bowls are chestnut, but their condition is not known.
Edit: The set weighs 10.5kg. The board alone would weigh about 8kg, so the extra 2kg is likely the weight of stones inside the bowls. These are probably glass, but could be slate and shell.
