This unique set came to Baduk Club from a go an antique shop in Kagawa, Japan.
The pieces are about 5mm-6mm thick. The 181 black stones are slate and the 180 white stones are Japanese clamshell. The black slate stones are slightly larger than the white ones, and this is intentional to account for black's slimming effect.
The Japanese go bowls are Kaya, size XL. They have their original finish in very good condition. Kaya is a dense wood with great longevity. This set has outstanding red resin streaks.
This set is still in Japan, it has not been refurbished in our Colorado shop. This is why we can offer it at a slightly discounted rate. We have cleanup instructions on our Care page.
