This decorative toy is one of a kind. It came to BadukClub from a recycle shop in Osaka, Japan. The full set includes a board, two bowls, and pieces.
The board is lovely, 33cm square and 10cm thick. It is not solid, it is a crafted box. The set was clearly made by an experienced woodworker. A can of coffee is included for scale. The board comes with cute wooden legs on the underside piece. For ultra-compact storage, the bottom piece can be inverted (the legs pointing up), then put the bowls and stone on that, and finally replace the top as a lid.
The bowls look like carefully crafted wood, the concentric circles of the lids is a stylish touch. They come with stones that fit this board. The stones may be slate and shell, or resin, or even wood. The whole set is very lightweight, making it great for travel or compact storage.
We have never seen a set quite like this, it is a real vintage find.
