This board came to Baduk club from a pawn shop in Osaka, Japan.
It has not been shipped to our Colorado workshop for refurbishing, so exact details are not known. The board is a lovely color typical of Hiba. It may also be Shinkaya or Kaya. It has a raised lacquer grid.
It is a hagi board, where the wood has been joined together - this type of construction is quite common for a table board, to avoid the potential for warping that comes from making a thin board of a single piece.
It is in great shape, and comes with a protective paulownia lid.
This is a vintage item.
