This board came to Baduk club from a reseller in Chiba, Japan.
The board is a lovely color typical of Kaya. Other signs also point to Kaya like the dark orange resin in the endgrain, the raised lacquer grid, and the unique sweet scent.
It is a 3-piece hagi board, where the wood has been joined together - this type of construction is quite common for a table board, to avoid the potential for warping that comes from making a thin board of a single piece.
This is a vintage item. One corner has a dent. Other small defects may exist.
