This board came to BadukClub from a second-hand shop in Saitama, Japan.
The board is a warm brown/orange color, typical of Katsura. The original box says 'Shin-Katsura' so it may be a similar substitute (Katsura has become more rare). The grid is traditional raised lacquer, which shines in the glare of the light.
The construction is very old-fashioned but sturdy, with mortice and tenon joints instead of hinges. This is nice because there won't be hinges to scratch a table, and the reverse side is available as a 13x13 board. It comes with its original box, and is in great condition.
A set of biconvex glass stones is included at about 7mm thick, but they were not measured or counted. The resin bowls have a faux wood pattern.
This is a vintage item.
