This board came to Baduk club from a private home in Okayama, Japan. It has not been shipped to our Colorado workshop for refurbishing, so exact details are not known.
The board is a lovely yellow color. It is most likely Hiba, but could be something else like Kaya.
It is a 2-piece hagi board, where the wood has been joined together - this type of construction is quite common for a table board, to avoid the potential for warping that comes from making a thin board of a single piece.
It comes with a paulownia storage box. Some nice calligraphy adorns the inside of the box, the single kanji 靜 is 'Shizu' which can mean Quiet, Slience, or Inner Peace.
This is a vintage item. There may be defects in the paulownia box (it is a very fragile and light wood), incidental marks on the board, etc.
