A folding board is a staple for most clubs and players 'on the go.' This Japanese board came to BadukClub from a reseller in Tottori, Japan. It comes with its original box.
This board is an older style that is no longer produced. Tenons on one side slot into the mortises on the other, creating a compact and portable set that still feels solid and substantial. The wood was carefully selected, both sides are usually made from a single piece of Quartersawn wood cut in half. The wood is fairly dense. The color and endgrain point to Katsura.
Wax residue on the endgrain is a good sign. This can be easily cleaned by brushing it with a cotton cloth.
The reverse side of the board has a shogi grid. Shogi sets are available by request for a small fee.
