This goban came to Baduk Club in excellent condition from a private home in Hokkaido, Japan.
The board is 17cm thick. It stands 30cm tall with its legs on. White wax residue on the endgrain is a good sign - in this case it is quite thick, indicating the board may not have been used before.
The board is plain-sawn, the cutting style is Kiura Itame. This provides a flame-pattern on the playing surface, straight lines on the sides, and endgrain where the players sit.
A Paulownia storage lid is included.
