This lovely set came to Baduk Club from an antique shop in Osaka, Japan. It is likely Chinese in origin.
The bowls are both made of stone, carefully carved with lids to match. Both bowls are black & white marble. One bowl is predominantly white, with black accents. The other bowl is predominantly black, with white accents. They make a beautiful pair. A thin layer of felt was added to the underside of the bowls, it is wearing thin and could be removed or replaced.
The go stones are marble as well, standard width and thickness about size 34-36 (9.5mm-10mm).
There are 185 black stones, as there seem to be some extra that are not very appealing but they will be included as spares. Marble is a soft stone, and some of the white dust from the interior of the bowls can get on the black stones to make them dusty - if you want to avoid this you can clean the black stones and then use a cloth bag inside the bowl to act as a liner.
There are 170 white stones (we have another 6 white stones in our Colorado workshop if you are willing to pay the cost of shipping separately for those).
