This is a premium set of go bowls.
The wood is rather unique, exactly like Island Mulberry (shimakuwa), a very rare type of tree from Mikura Island which is 200 km south of Tokyo in the Pacific Ocean.
You can compare this with a new set, which will cost about $2000 (when they aren't sold out). We are not wood experts, so it could also be something else, like an unfamiliar kind of Tiger Maple. These show minor signs of wear, but they do not have any cracks or other major defects. They have their original finish.
A video of the bowls is available, so you can see how they have a golden glow in the light:
The bowls are 8.3cm tall and 14.6cm wide without the lids on. They should be able to hold stones up to size 36 comfortably (and size 38 snugly).
