This is an outstanding set, with high class go bowls and snow-grade stones.

The wood looks like rosewood but I think it is mulberry, or perhaps a dark-finished keyaki (zelkova). The bowls are size L, so they fit the size 25 pieces comfortably. They are 13.4cm wide by 7.2cm tall. They were treated with Monkey Wax and given 3 weeks to cure. A small crack has been reglued to keep it from spreading.

The stones are slate and shell, size 25 (7mm+). The white pieces are snow-grade clamshell if they are Mexican Clams, which may be the case given the bright white color. They may also be Japanese suwabute (legendary grade) given how tight the lines are. Please see photos for details.
