These size L go bowls are Maple or Mulberry. They have a pleasing pale tone that is similar to the color of most go boards. The wide growth lines make me think mulberry, but the color makes me think Maple. A crack in one bowl has been glued to stop it from spreading.
I would recommend gently scrubbing off the old shellac and applying a treatment of Monkey Wax, especially if you live in a dry climate. I will include a pad of superfine steel wool and a 2oz container of Monkey Wax for this purpose, please refer to my Care Instructions for how to do this refurbishing.
There are 180 white stones and 181 black. The white pieces are made from Mexican clams, and they measure 8.2mm-8.3mm; they have been cleaned and soaked in h2o2. The black stones measure just slightly thicker than the white, up to 8.6mm.
