This set came to Baduk Club from a shop in Yamanashi.
There are 182 black and 179 white pieces. The black are slate, about 8.8-9.2mm. The white are clamshell, about 8.6-8.8mm. It is common for the black to be thicker than the white - if they are made the same size then the shiny white stones appear larger.
The Japanese go bowls look like Keyaki (Zelkova) or Shiochi (Ash). Their original finish is wearing, so they are a good candidate for refurbishing - please refer to my Care Instructions for how to scrub off the old finish and re-wax the bowls.
This set is still in Japan, it has not been refurbished in our Colorado shop. This is why we can offer it at a discounted rate. Please refer to the photos, as we do not have additional information.

You can save some cost by downgrading to Japan Post Surface (3 months), but please contact us to do this at your own risk as damage can occur with surface shipping.
